Call of Duty: Economic Reconstruction

Ten years ago, the Iraq war broke out with the smoke spreading all over the country; ten years later, there is still a need to rebuild after the war.

In September 2013, the equipment installation team of LandGlass arrived in Kurdistan, in the north part of Iraq, to provide equipment and technology to the users there. Although the war did not last long in Kurdistan, the economy is still recovering.

In the first half year of 2013, Mr. Mamandi in Kurdistan came to LandGlass with the intention of purchasing one flat glass tempering furnace. Although there is great demand for many types of equipment in Iraq, not many enterprises would like to go to Iraq. He hoped that LandGlass could accept the order to provide him a tempering machine. After of having a conversation with Mr. Mamandi, Manager Zhou of LandGlass, signed the contract convinced, and LandGlass scheduled to assist them in everything it can.

Take Ownership, Deliver Commitments

In September, two installation and commissioning engineers, Mr. Jiang and Mr. Lei, were preparing to go to Iraq. Before leaving, they were well-trained in everything they needed to know about Iraq, including its current situation, local customs as well as matters needing attention there. Moreover, their travel route, pickup locations, accommodation and many details were finally determined after repeated communication with Mr. Mamandi who later said that he would arrange escorts to accompany them and ensure their safety during the time there. But when the Embassy refused to issue visas of Kurdistan to them, everyone worried a lot about the security situation there while Mr. Jiang and Mr. Lei just smiled and said nothing.

For the safety of the engineers, they finally decided to go to Iraq through Iran. When they entered Iraq, after about 4 hours on the road and passing through several checkpoints with armed guards, Mr. Jiang and Mr. Lei eventually arrived at the installation site in Kurdistan. The workshop was a mess, indicating that they were unprepared, so the site needed cleaning up by the two engineers; this was one additional work procedure. Due to the current situation in Iraq, it was hard to hire suitable employees. And the few workers in the workshop were totally confused at the work because of language. Therefore, the two engineers needed to finish all the work by themselves without any assistants. From fixing one screw to the whole equipment and connecting one line to the whole circuit of the electric cabinet, they undertook all the work without any other help and arrived at the workshop with first rays of the morning sun and left with stars shining in the sky every day without any complaints.

Our Mission: Clients' Success

The whole process of installing the equipment lasted 59 days during which the engineers carefully finished installation and commissioning of the equipment as well as equipment operation training. After finishing the work there the engineers were about to leave, Mr. Mamandi was moved to shake their hands firmly and said: "You provide me timely help. Thank you very much!" All the workers on site gave their thumbs up and said good-bye to them.

The acceptance by clients is the proudest achievement for LandGlass. Satisfying users' needs and promoting their development naturally lead to the success of LandGlass. Every employee in LandGlass always fulfills our promise through action and provides high-quality products and services to every user.
