How to Reduce Energy Consumption in Glass Tempering ?

Source: LandGlass  Attention: 244  Published: 2024-07-22
Glass tempering furnaces are a major source of electricity consumption in factories. Reducing energy consumption in the glass tempering furnaces can lead to substantial cost savings.

First, implementing integrated energy-saving technology in glass tempering machines can significantly reduce operational costs. LandGlass' glass tempering furnaces adopt ThermoLock technology, Labyrinth sealing, and grid-structure insulation to minimize heat loss and reduce energy use.

Additionally, setting the appropriate heating profile is crucial. Suppose the heating temperature is too high and exceeds the glass softening point. In that case, the glass will not only deform, and its surface quality will be seriously affected, but also the unnecessary excessive heating will raise the energy consumption of the glass tempering furnace.

Moreover, maximizing loading efficiency without compromising the tempering quality of the end products can significantly enhance energy savings. Since quenching a small piece of glass typically consumes nearly the same amount of energy as quenching a full bedload, maximizing the amount of glass in each load is a more efficient way to reduce energy consumption.
