Photoelectric switch (or photoelectric sensor) is the short form of photoelectric proximity switch. By detecting whether the object blocks or reflects the light beam, the circuit will transform the intensity of light between the transmitter and the receiver into different levels of electric current to determine the absence, or presence of the object being detected.
