How the glass quenching process works: the glass heated to a certain temperature is transfered into the chiller from the glass tempering furnace. The cooling air ejected from the nozzles will have a close contact with the glass surface and transfer the surface heat to the cold air, resulting in dropping of glass temperature while raising air temperature. The heated cooling air spreads out along the glass surface and cools down the glass by taking away the heat in the glass through the gaps between the small air boxes and space around the chillers of the furnace. The chillers will continue blowing cooling air from the nozzles onto the glass surface during the set time.
